DON WRIGHT'S SPEAKING TIPS

GUERILLA SPEAKING TIPS
24 Aug 2003

Just a few tips to assist you in being the best speaker you can be!

Tip #1:

When crunched for time, practice the first 2 minutes and the last 2 minutes of your presentation. The opening answers the question: "What's in it for the audience?" The closing re-caps your main points.

Tip #2

If you're being introduced, prepare the introduction yourself. Don't rely on others. Write a short, easy-to-read introduction, and provide it on a card to the person assigned to introduce you. They are your "warm up act" so help them set you up for success!

Tip #3

Hold your handouts to the end unless they're necessary for the meeting. Otherwise, people will be reading the handout instead of listening to you.
